Patrick Gannon

Patrick Gannon is President of The Society of Spain (SoS), an independent organization that was formed in 2006 by a group of Spaniards and Americans living and working in the Washington DC area, dedicated to helping increase awareness, appreciation and understanding of Spain and the U.S. and their
respective cultures.

Mr. Gannon is a seasoned financial communications specialist who has worked with various high-profile private, public and non-profit sector clients throughout his career--including the United Nations, Amtrak, the U.S. Department of Education, Clark Realty Capital, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the U.S. Internal Revenue Service, U.S. Courts, and the U.S.-Spain Council.

Currently he is a Premier Mortgage Consultant at HSBC USA, where he provides home financing consultation and services to a wide variety of international and domestic borrowers as part of HSBC’s comprehensive banking and wealth management service.  He has also worked in a similar capacity for Sierra Pacific Mortgage, one of the nation’s top mortgage lenders. Before joining Sierra Pacific, Mr. Gannon worked at GON Consulting, an international strategic development firm.

Prior to this experience Mr. Gannon worked at Deloitte Consulting, the largest professional services firm in the world, where he was the team lead on several multi-million dollar accounts for internal and external strategic communications, organization design, and change management efforts for various federal agencies.

Mr. Gannon began his career in Washington D.C. as part of the government affairs and communications division of the Food Products Association—at the time the largest food trade association in the nation and worldwide.

After that experience he worked as a Senior Associate at the public affairs firm Tomb & Associates where he provided strategic counsel, communications, media relations and advocacy services to a diverse group of high-profile clients, including corporations, trade associations, federal agencies, think tanks and non-profit organizations. His work there consistently generated positive coverage for clients in major international, national and local media outlets, including The Wall Street Journal, The New York
Times, The Washington Post, FOX News and NBC News.

His professional experience abroad includes working in Barcelona as a researcher and communications specialist at the internationally-ranked IESE Business School.

A native of Washington DC, Mr. Gannon holds a Master´s degree in Political Science from University of Navarra, where has also completed doctoral studies, and holds a Bachelor degree from Mount St. Mary´s University. My wife is from Spain and we have two daughters.
